The NEO is a nationwide competition aimed at:

NEO encourages collaboration, technical ingenuity, and business thinking. Teams can consist of 2–3 members, combining different skills for maximum impact.
Structure of the Competition
NEO is organized in seven progressive phases:
1. Intra-Institution Phase
Universities select top engineering innovations from proposals and prototypes.
2. Inter-Institution / Regional Selection
Top 5 innovations from each of the 6 geopolitical regions are chosen.
3. Prototyping & Mentorship Phase
Regional winners receive funding and technical mentorship to build minimum viable products (MVPs).
4. Regional Finals – Top 12 Teams
Judged on innovation, feasibility, and commercial potential.
5. Business Preparation & Mentorship
Teams develop investor-ready business plans to showcase the commercial viability of their solutions.
6. Semi-Finals – National Level
Top 12 teams refine prototypes with expert support and mentorship.
7. Grand Finale – Top 4 Teams
Final pitch to industry leaders, investors, and government representatives.
