About the ARSO Essay Competition
The African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO), in partnership with the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), is calling on students in Nigeria and across Africa to take part in this prestigious academic competition.
The competition is designed to help students understand how common standards can make trading between African countries easier, fairer, and more efficient.
It also encourages young people to think deeply about how standardisation supports:
Fair competition
Economic inclusion
Growth within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)
Stronger global trade relations

Participants are expected to:

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility)
You can participate if you meet the following conditions:
1. You are under 35 years old
2. You are a student in a government-approved higher institution

The competition has two categories of awards:
