2025 OML 17 HCDT University Scholarship Programme (OML17 USP): Step-by-Step Application Guide
The OML 17 Undergraduate Scholarship Programme (OML17 USP) is a life-changing educational support initiative sponsored by Heirs Energies through its Host Community Development Trust (HCDT).
The programme is designed to support brilliant but underprivileged students from OML 17 host communities by giving them fair access to tertiary education in Nigeria.
If you are an indigene of an OML 17 host community and currently studying in a Nigerian university, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know and how to apply successfully.
Step 1: Understand Who Can Apply (Eligibility)
Before applying, ensure you meet all the eligibility requirements below.

Step 2: Check Academic Requirements
You must:
Be currently enrolled in a federal or state-owned Nigerian university
Be a full-time undergraduate student
Have at least five (5) O’Level credits, including English and Mathematics, in WASSCE, SSCE, or NECO (not more than two sittings)
Maintain:
Minimum CGPA of 3.0/5.0, or
2.5/4.0 throughout the scholarship period
Not be receiving any other scholarship or grant
Step 3: Prepare Required Information & Documents
Before starting your application, ensure you have:
A valid personal email address
An active phone number
Scanned copies of:
O’Level result(s)
University admission letter
Student ID card
Recent passport photograph (white background)
OML 17 HCDT Attestation Form
Step 4: Visit the Official Application Portal
All applications must be submitted online through Scholastica:

Step 5: Create Your Account
1. Click “Apply Now”
2. Select “Register Now”
3. Enter your email and create a password
4. Check your email inbox and activate your account
Step 6: Complete Your Application Form
After activation:
1. Return to https://candidate.scholastica.ng/
2. Log in using your email and password
3. Carefully fill in:
Personal information
Educational details
National Identification Number (if available)
4. Upload all required scanned documents
⚠️ Important:
Ensure your name matches exactly across all documents.
If there is any difference, upload a sworn affidavit or certificate.
Step 7: Upload and Review Documents Carefully
Confirm all uploaded documents are clear and readable
Upload a passport photograph with a white background
Double-check all information to avoid mistakes
Step 8: Submit Your Application
1. Recheck your entire application
2. Click “Apply Now”
3. You will receive a confirmation email once your application is successful
Step 9: Download, Sign & Re-Upload Profile
1. Log back into your account
2. Download your application profile
3. Take it to your Head of Department for signing
4. Scan and upload the signed profile for verification
